Tour de Talbot
On September 7, more than 300 bicyclists will ride the beautiful back roads of
Talbot County on Maryland’s Eastern
Shore in support of clean water as part of
the 10th Annual Tour de Talbot. CBF partnered
with the Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy on
the ride. The event features a century ride (100 miles), metric century (62 miles), and a 20-mile family ride and is generously sponsored by Bike Doctor, Dock Street Foundation, and others. u To be a part of next year’s ride, visit www.tourdetalbot.org.
The Great Chesapeake Bay
The 25th Annual Great Chesapeake
Bay Schooner Race™ gets underway
on Thursday, October 16, 2014, as
dozens of majestic schooners set
sail from Baltimore on a 127-mile
journey to Portsmouth, Virginia.
Proceeds from the race are donated
to CBF. The race has helped support
CBF’s Environmental Education Program
for 25 years! u To learn more, donate, or volunteer, visit www.schoonerrace.org.
Across the Bay 10k
On November 9, 2014, the Across the Bay
10k will take 20,000 runners through a
scenic course and across the
Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The race is
sold out, but it’s not too late to be a
part of this historic event or become
a volunteer! CBF now has charity
bibs. Purchase a charity bib—you’ll
get to run and support our programs.
CBF needs to recruit several hundred
volunteers for race day and the two days
leading up to it, so we need your help. u To learn more about purchasing a charity bib, volunteering,
or to donate, visit cbf.org/Bay10k. To become a sponsor, call
