Pine Creek Gorge
Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon
First marketed as “The Grand Canyon of
Pennsylvania” in 1936, Pine Creek Gorge
can be viewed from many vantage points.
Pine Creek Rail Trail, a converted railroad
bed that runs along the creek, can be
traveled by foot, bicycle, or horse. The
30-mile West Rim Trail has been chosen
by Outside Magazine as its “Best Hike in
Pennsylvania.” And, the creek itself can be
traveled by kayak, canoe, and raft when
water levels are high enough. For more
accessible views, try Leonard Harrison State
Park‘s Outlook Trail.
