I am incredibly proud of the partnership Virginia Beach City Public
Schools has with CBF and the critically important hands-on field
work we do together to teach students environmental literacy.
To be sure, we are a leader in bringing these practices into our
school facilities’ design process, but we know we have to drive this
kind of thinking into the classroom. There are compelling reasons to do so. Like many
coastal communities, we face challenges associated with polluted runoff, sea-level
rise, and access to clean water and renewable energy. We believe deeply that it is our
responsibility to ask our students to think about these issues, and we know they must
start working to solve them now to make a lasting impact in our community.
To make that happen, we look forward to a continued and strengthened partnership with
CBF over the next 50 years and beyond.
Promoting Strategic Innovation
CBF is an innovative leader, exploring and
implementing the newest, most effective technologies
for reducing pollution and restoring our waterways.
Our future is full of challenges, and we believe that
innovation will help drive improvements to our Bay
and its rivers and streams.
