“Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error,
change—this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-con-fidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope.
And out of hope, progress.” This quote by American
author, advertising executive, and U.S. Congresman
Bruce Barton is fitting for this time in Bay clean up.
We’ve had some impressive sucesses. Our big win for clean
water in the Third Circuit Court (page 6). The honor of the
Hanley Award for Community Service in Sustainability (page
5). New conservation practices on farms (page 22).
And, we’ve experienced some pains. The passing of our
dear Libby Norris (page 21). The threat of intense development on a magnificent stretch of the Rappahanock
(page 25). The Farm Bureau’s intent to push the
Blueprint litigation to the Supreme Court (page 6).
Despite the ups and downs, we have fresh hope and will
stay strong in our fight for clean water, always aiming for
an overall trajectory of progress.
